Page Perry Partner Named ABA Liaison

In January 2007, Page Perry partner J. Steven Parker was named as a liaison between the American Bar Association and the Securities Division of the Georgia Office of Secretary of State.   In June 2007, as a part of his liaison duties, Mr. Parker issued a report on recent state securities regulatory developments to the ABA Securities Subcommittee.  The report included updates on Georgia’s plan to introduce the Uniform Securities Act of 2002 in the 2008 legislative session.  The Uniform Act was adopted by the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws and was endorsed by a vote of the North American Securities Administrators Association that same year.

Mr. Parker’s report also detailed recent enforcement activity of the Georgia Office of Secretary of State and described upcoming changes to the State’s program for examination of state-registered investment advisors.
